It’s Day 7 of National Volunteer Week! CHI is very grateful to have such amazing people who have traveled to Haiti, often more than once, for a medical or surgical clinic. Each day this week we have featured one of our dedicated volunteers and plan to continue throughout the year!
Cindy is an EMT-P (Paramedic) and has been with CHI for at least five or six years. She is currently on the CHI Board of Directors and has a strong passion for Haiti. Cindy goes on several trips a year with CHI. She is known to help in any way possible and goes out of her way to try to be helpful, resourceful, and efficient.
Surgical clinic leader, Robin Meetz shares her words about Cindy, “Besides Haiti, she just has a passion for helping people, any people. I think of her as a Mother Hen. I love how she goes out of her way to make our incoming, completely scared, Haitian surgical patients feel more at ease by talking to them in pre-op in creole, learning their name, asking how they are, [how they] are feeling etc. She is a blessing to many, and a pleasure to work alongside.”
Today we honor Cindy for her dedication and work with CHI. We’re so thankful to have her as a CHI ambassador and continued supporter of our work in Haiti!
