April 23, 2020 It’s Day 4 of National Volunteer Week! CHI is very grateful to have such amazing people who have traveled to Haiti, often more than once, for a medical or surgical clinic. Each day this week we will feature one of our dedicated volunteers. Cina is a spectacular RN that started with CHI in 2017 and has been to Haiti with us twice. She was also signed up for a couple of trips that are canceled and is slated to lead the June trip with Kim if the country opens back up. Cina initially volunteered at a hospital in Port-au-Prince, Haiti then heard about CHI through two of our volunteers at the time, Heidi and Hunter. Despite being sick for a couple of days on her first trip with CHI, she did an amazing job in the treatment section of the clinics. She really enjoys working in the clinic with Arlington and Francesca. Cina is one of CHI’s biggest ambassadors! She has done a great job recruiting her nurse friends to volunteer with us in Haiti. Currently, Cina is working long hours in the COVID-19 unit at UC Davis while also working on her Master’s in Public Health.
Today we honor Cina for her work with CHI and her work on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re so thankful to have her as a CHI Alumni and continued supporter of our work in Haiti!
