Haitian Staff

Community Health Workers (CHW)

CHW's focus on community outreach and education. They monitor people in their communities for signs of illness and direct them to one of our clinics or the hospital when appropriate. They visit pregnant women to talk about how to care for themselves and their babies and emphasize the importance of breast feeding. Lastly, CHW's teach patients at clinics about their disease and also teach school kids how to stay healthy.

CHW, Nola Fenelon has been educating the community of Do Digue on sickness prevention, sanitation and prenatal care for CHI since February of 2011.  This is her first job, ever!

Nola currently lives in the community of Do Digue with her twin sons.  The best part of working with CHI in Nola’s eyes would be working so closely with her own community, meeting with the committee and being able to help and share with her family and friends.  When Nola isn’t working she enjoys attending church, teaching children, working in the garden, listening to music and walking.
