The first scholarship fund was established in 2014. Additional scholarships have been created to provide funding for students as well as medical professionals to participate in one of Community Health Initiative, Haiti’s (CHI) Medical Clinics in Arcahaie, Haiti.
Three scholarships will be awarded each calendar year for $1,300 each to cover CHI’s program fee to participate in a Medical Clinic Team. Recipient is responsible for his or her own airfare and miscellaneous expenses. Eligible applicants will meet the following criteria:
Medical Student Scholarship
Health Sciences Student Scholarship
'Bouskaship' for Public Health Scholarship
(Awarded for January - June travel)
HOW TO APPLY
All applicants must complete the application. Application materials (essay, curriculum vitae, picture, and 2 letters of recommendation) must be received by October 1 to be considered for trips in January-June of the following year. Application materials must be submitted by May 1 for a trip that departs between July and December of the same year. All applicants will be notified by email of their award status within 2 weeks of the deadline. All scholarship recipients must submit a reflection piece upon their return to the United States.
